New publication in Macromolecular Materials and Engineering.

The property profile and the processing of high molecular weight polyethylene (HMWPE) using diode lasers in laser sintering were investigated in the paper "Processing Characteristics of High Molecular Weight Polyethylene in Laser Sintering: The Role of Carbon Black Concentration and Processing Strategy for Diode Laser Sintering Machines" which has been published in Macromolecular Materials and Engineering. The results show that the fundamental processing of HMWPE on such laser sintering machines is feasible. Both the carbon black concentration and the part arrangement as well as a precise coordination between material and process parameters are crucial for successful processing.
